CHOCOLATE BEERS
Chocolate beers use “dark” chocolate or cocoa in any of its forms other than or in addition to hops to create a distinct (ranging from subtle to intense) character. Underhopping allows chocolate to contribute to the flavor profile while not becoming excessively bitter. Others mix chocolate later into the beer process and you get a more milk chocolate and white chocolate flavor.
CHOCOLATE WINES
Chocolate wines really seems to get taste buds in an uproar. Sold as dessert wines and particularly popular around chocolate-centric holidays such as Valentine’s Day and Easter, Chocolate wines generally fall into two camps. Some are port-style wines that are dark red and have, if done right, a rich, dark chocolate taste. The other style mixes cream into the wine, creating a sort of adult milk shake.
