THIS IS MY FAVORITE TACO TUESDAY PLACE
This is my favorite taco Tuesday place. If you come at the right time, there is a a lady who makes homemade tortillas that are second to none. The service is incredibly friendly. We make normal taco Tuesday runs, and have never been let down by the quality of food. I havent tried all seven tacos, but from the ones I've tried the el pastor was my favorite. The potato was surprisingly good too.

SUPERB CATERING SERVICE AND FOOD!
My family comes here after church many weeks, they catered my brothers wedding, the service is superb and the food fresh and expertly prepared. There are always tables available. The salsa is nice and chunky, and their enchiladas are great. Burritos aren't quite as good as the other dishes, but they still get a well-deserved 5.

BEST SALSAS I'VE EVER HAD!
Los Patios I've been coming here for years! They have one of the best salsas I've ever had and the awards they have just proves I'm not the only one who loves it! The owner Carlos is a really nice guy always friendly and quick to serve you. When I go here I always get the Los Patios Amber to drink its like their own craft beer that reminds me of a better Dos XX. As for food it varies to what i feel like this most recent visit I ordered a chicken burrito wet it comes with red sauce on top and filled with chicken beans rice and lots of sauce all over it quite delicious! They are also very accommodating to ones order my friend asked if they could make her carne Asada fries even though they weren't on the menu it was not a problem great service nice people and delicious food! We will definitely be back sometime soon! Their $1 Taco Tuesday is calling my name!

Great Taco Tuesday location! Cheap tacos, great salsa and cheap margaritas/beer. They are always packed and have great service. You can get in and out of there for under $20 with two people, and that is including drinks!

VERY FRIENDLY AND ATTENTIVE, OMG YUMMY!
Hubby and I were in the area and decided to check this joint out. We were so glad we stopped in. First of all, the staff is very friendly and attentive. Met the owner who was very nice.
Now the food... OMG so yummy! I had the carnitas chimichanga which was insanely huge I had to take half home. Hubby had the shrimp fajitas which was fantastic. The shrimp was large unlike some places that seem to use bay shrimp (exaggerating, I know but just wanted to make a point). I had a margarita on the rocks with salt... my my.. either I am a really light drinker (which I am) or they were generous with the alcohol. I was feeling pretty good by the time I left... Oh and leave some room for dessert. The flan is a creamy caramelly concoction which is a great ending to a great meal.
Highly recommend this place if you want some great mexican food and great service.

Carlos is awesome and so is the food/service. Hands down the best sit down Mexican joint in south OC. Try the Carlos Burrito because it will blow your mind. My only problem was that the salsa was so good I was too full to finish my meal.

I agree with Cat that it was not possible to leave without a smile on my face! Walking out of Los Patios, I felt like I was leaving a good friend's house, as that is how the owner, Carlos, makes everyone feel. I love going to a restaurant and feeling like the people who work there are excited that I am there. Carlos and his wait staff get 6 stars for sure.
Ordering was the best experience. With each selection we made, the waiter responded to let us know if we had made good decisions. He grunted, "Oooh, yes," when I ordered the chicken fajitas, telling me that they were great. He murmured, "Very nice," when my husband ordered the carne asada special.
The food was really good. Most of the meals come with soup or a salad. The chicken soup was fabulous. Very fresh and healthy. The salad was great as well, with a nice homemade cilantro dressing. The lady at the table next to ours couldn't stop talking about hers!
The fajitas were great. Very fresh again, not greasy or buttery at all. The meat was a great quality and the bell peppers and onions were plentiful. It would have fed two or three people for sure. My only complaint were the tortillas. With everything so fresh and obviously homemade, I was surprised that the tortillas seemed like a mid grade brand from the store. I decided to forego them so that I could eat more of the good stuff before getting full!
The atmosphere is special. It is adorable and classy, even down to the chairs. The music selection was great, really got us in a great mood.
We had the entertainment coupon, which was for a buy one, get one free up to $11.00, but Carlos just comped the entire second meal. Very nice, and we weren't expecting it.
I would return in a heartbeat, and next time I will bring friends! Go, you will not be disappointed.

Hey ya'll this place has got huge food! It ain't cheap, but one meal will feed the multitudes. it is savory and delicious! I had one thing here that was not up to par, but all in all, pretty delicious. They have Margarita Mondays where you can get 3 dollar Margaritas! I love the Margaritas here. There is one server that just makes them soooo perfect!
One of our go to places for an easy meal, margaritas, friendly service with our toddlers. Yay!

OUTSTANDING CARNITAS
Juan Carlos is the owner and he makes everyone feel welcome! They have Taco Tuesdays, where all taco's are $1/all day! The Salsa is amazingly fresh. One can taste the homemade flavors bursting on every handmade tortilla chip.
I had the Shrimp Enchilada's, and it was not bad. I had lunch there the day before and had the Carnita's plate and it was outstanding. The price was great for lunch, about $8. The plate was full of rice, beans, carnitas, and all the traditional sides. Wonderful taste, not too salty, and very flavorful.
They start with a fresh salad made with a green fresca dressing. It was light and refreshing.
A great hidden gem in San Clemente. I will be visiting again very soon!

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEIR MOLE CHICKEN ENCHILADA
I absolutely love their mole chicken enchiladas and fresh made tortillas which were served instead of chips. Service is great, and they even made something "off the menu" for my kids. The only downside is that the outside seating is basically in the parking lot, so we just sit inside.

BEST FAJITAS I EVER HAD!
I recently had a great experience here. From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent. We were warmly welcomed, then seated and brought chips very quickly. Our server was extremely helpful in answering questions, letting us custom order what we wanted, and interacting with our kids. We were given plenty of attention and were never left wanting.
The food was good, with some dishes better than others. The chips and salsa were decent. I ordered the Fajitas Del Mar which came out on a cast iron skillet as heaping pile of seafood (scallops, shrimp, crap, and octopus I believe). They were the best fajitas I have ever had. We also ordered a couple mini burritos because it was burrito Thursday and they were a buck a piece. They weren't bad at all and pretty sizeable for being "mini" but I think I'll stick to taco Tuesdays. I also sampled the enchiladas which were also decent.
They do accept credit cards; not sure if they recently started accepting them and other reviews are out of date now. The overall experience was great and the fajitas were amazing. I will definitely return.

Located in San Clemente's historic Old City Plaza, Los Patios Mexican Restaurant offers some of the best authentic Mexican food in all of San Clemente. The owner and main Chef, Carlos, is one of the most friendly small business owners you'll ever meet. Always a smile and eager to make your experience at Los Patios a memorable one.
All of the food is authentic Mexican style cuisine, prepared as the do in Baja and the western coast of Mexico. Try the tortilla soup, I promise it's some of the best you'll ever find. The enchiladas are absolutely fantastic, prepared most any way you can think of with whatever sauce you desire. The carnitas are never dry or greasy, always moist with a bit of spicy crispness here and there.
Cold beer by the bottle, glass or pitcher.

I don't think it's possible to leave this place without a smile on your face. It's not just the delicious (and bottomless!) chips and home-made salsa, or the extra yummy Carne Asada Torta, it's the service! Seems like a family operation and the waiter/manager/bartender that always seems to be there when we go is just the nicest man! He truly seems to care about you and how you are enjoying your dining experience. Great customer service, wow! They have their own house brew "Los Patios Amber" (made off premises, specifically for them, by some OC brewery) that is great. Nice margaritas and, of course, the eponymous "patio" to eat on.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten at!
My family came on a Tuesday night last week. It was very busy for take out and lightly crowded at the tables.
ALL of the meals are filled to the brim with food. My wife and mother-in-law got fajitas which not only tasted amazingly good, there was enough for another complete meal the next day!
I had a mole chicken enchilada, and the mole was homemade, and DELICIOUS!
My son's child plate was more like an adult plate of food. He loved his food which is a definite plus for a 6 year old who, more often than not, has a finickiness that rivals the Top Chef judges at times.
My wife had 2 margaritas. They were blended (not my thing), but they tasted just right..enough to know there was alcohol in it, but not blaring it out to you.
The salsa was fresh and we went through about 3 bowls of it in one sitting. It was hot without it having it blow your mouth to kingdom come.
The service was a little slow, but I put that up more that the food took a while to make, and it was WELL worth it in the end. More time to eat chips and have some good drinks.
Again, one of the top 3 Mexican restaurants I have had the pleasure to eat at.

BEST RELLENOS AND TAMALES!
I judge Mexican restaurants by their rellenos and tamales. LP's is the best for both in So. OC. If you are a taco and cheese enchilada kind of person you can't go wrong here, but where LP's stands out is in their authentic flavors and spice combinations. The green sauce topping on their tamales is outstanding! They serve the tamale on an actual corn husk, and the masa is perfectly done. Great flavors and your choice of beef, carnitas, or chicken. Their rellenos are also outstanding. Just the right amount of cheese and a batter that has great flavor, not to mention the fresh chile. Surely underestimated, and very nice people.

Fabulous place for great mexican. We actually went because I had clipped a coupon for what I thought was El Patio, but turned out to be Los Patios in San Clemente. Thank goodness I did! This place is a find. Carlos, the owner is so personal and friendly. And if you ask, he'll give you some amazing recommendations. I had the tequila butter shrimp and I ate it all despite being stuffed to the gills. It was so yummy I couldn't help myself. I highly recommend this place for some good authentic mexican. Tons better than El Patio any day!!!!

This place is not on the main thoroughfare, but tucked off of Ave Palizada in the Old City Plaza. The place, from the outside is not much to look at, but it makes up for that with the food an service. Ask for Tony, he was very friendly and attentive and took very good care of us. They make their tortillas, fresh, right there in front of the restaurant and hand them to you as soon as they are ready, hot and fresh! You are served these homemade tortillas with delicious salsa while you wait for your meal. The meal portions are huge! And the prices are very reasonable. I love tamales and there are only a few places that make them the way I like them.. This place did it right. Sweet and moist. I had the carnitas tamales, make sure you try those! We loved this place and will definitely return.
